Biography

Linda Thomas is currently a Research Associate at the School of Social & Political Sciences at the University of Glasgow. She is involved in the Healthy Dads Healthy Kids Prisons (HDHK-P) feasibility study, which aims to improve mental health, wellbeing, and relationships of fathers in prison with their primary school-aged children. Linda has extensive experience in mixed-methods intervention evaluation studies, including projects like ‘You’re Own Time Now,’ focusing on the transition of military personnel to civilian life in Scotland. She has also worked on the Unforgotten Forces project, addressing the needs of older veterans, and evaluated the National Evaluation of New Models of Primary Care in Scotland. Linda's research interests include the diverse experiences of military veterans and their families, and she has a strong focus on underrepresented groups related to mental health and wellbeing. Her research aims to provide policymakers and service providers with evidence that addresses health inequalities, employing both psychological and sociological theories to engage hard-to-reach communities and facilitate sustained health behavior change.
