Biography

Linda Watson is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Calgary, and serves as the Acting Scientific Director of Cancer Research Analytics at Alberta Health Services. With over 30 years of experience in oncology nursing, she has held various inter-professional leadership roles within CancerControl Alberta, the provincial program dedicated to cancer care. She is a past president of the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) and currently serves as a board director for the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC). Dr. Watson's work focuses on the application of patient-reported outcomes to enhance the quality of life for cancer patients in Alberta. She is the principal investigator for a nationally funded study aimed at improving patient experiences through comprehensive application of patient-reported outcomes and has co-investigated projects concerning innovative supportive care pathways. Her research interests include health services research, applied interventions, and digital health solutions that improve person-centred care in ambulatory cancer care settings.
