Biography

Lindon studied chemistry at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, under Professor Dave Larsen, and obtained his PhD in 2013, focusing on natural product total synthesis methodology development. He has worked with Associate Professors Johan Svenson and Jørn Hansen at the University of Tromsø - Arctic University of Norway, where he developed marine natural products as acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. In 2015, Lindon moved to Umeå University, Sweden, under the supervision of Associate Professor Christian Hedberg, investigating the interplay between bacterially derived small molecules and the human host. In April 2019, he joined the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at Uppsala University as an Associate Senior Lecturer, affiliated with the Uppsala Antibiotic Centre. His research aims to employ synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology tools to interrogate small molecules that influence host-bacterial physiology, guiding the development of novel antibiotic classes to selectively edit human microbiota and combat infection diseases.
