Lindsay Amundsen-Meyer has over 15 years of experience working with heritage resources in Western Canada, including academic, cultural resource management, and governmental sectors. Her expertise lies in Canadian Plains archaeology, especially within the landscape of the adjacent Rocky Mountains, landscape archaeology, spatial analysis, and Indigenous/decolonizing archaeological approaches. Lindsay has directed and managed large excavation programs in southern Alberta, as well as large and small-scale survey programs in Alberta and British Columbia. She is involved in diverse projects related to heritage resources, archaeological sites, cultural landscapes, and historic structures, with a special interest in fostering public awareness around Alberta's archaeological resources and engaging Indigenous descendant communities. Her research aims to incorporate Indigenous worldviews into scientific studies and to understand how Indigenous groups and archaeologists can create authentic partnerships to lead meaningful interpretations of the past. Lindsay's dissertation research incorporated Blackfoot worldviews into her archaeological study, emphasizing ideologically important features of the Blackfoot landscape. Her current research includes projects focused on Canadian Plains Archaeology, Landscape Archaeology, Indigenous Archaeology, and Geographic Information Systems.
