Biography

Lindsay Hedden is an applied health services researcher and a Michael Smith Foundation Health Research Scholar. She is the principal investigator at the Health Systems Research Lab. Dr. Hedden completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Evaluation. Her research focuses on health equity, health policy, and primary care access, particularly in marginalized communities. She has worked on identifying and addressing gaps in health system data and the planning of primary care delivery. Dr. Hedden's work includes examining the impact of virtual care, propelled by the COVID-19 pandemic, on future health system capacity and demand. Additionally, she investigates the implications of corporate involvement in primary care on healthcare equity and quality. Currently, she serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Justice Emmett Hall Memorial Foundation and joined the Faculty of Health Sciences in 2020.
