Dr. Lindsey Brett

Biography

Lindsey Brett is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Health Sciences at Macquarie University. Her research primarily focuses on the impact of physical exercise on individuals living with dementia and in aged care. Lindsey completed her PhD in 2017 at the University of Wollongong, where she studied the effects of physical exercise on agitation and physical performance in individuals in nursing homes. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy with First Class Honours from Coventry University, UK, completed in 2008. Lindsey has significant clinical experience, having worked as a physiotherapist across various settings in both the UK and Australia since 2008, particularly focusing on the aged care sector. She has held positions such as Senior Physiotherapist at Encara and Physiotherapist at St George Physiotherapy. In addition to her research work, she participates actively in the Australian Physiotherapy Association and engages in various membership and advocacy roles related to physiotherapy in aged care.
