Biography

Lindsey Sinclair is a clinical academic specializing in old age psychiatry. She completed her medical training at Royal Free Hospital, which included a BSc in Molecular Medicine, and then began her clinical training predominantly in Bristol. She had the opportunity to work with Professor David Nutt at the Bristol Psychopharmacology Unit during her core psychiatry training. After completing advanced training in Psychiatry, she began working with Professor Ian Day, focusing on the genetic influences on cognition, which formed the foundation of her Wellcome Trust funded research training fellowship. Lindsey earned her PhD while completing clinical training in general adult and old age psychiatry alongside postdoctoral research. She was awarded a junior fellowship from the Alzheimer's Society in 2019, which allowed her to concentrate on the complex relationship between depression and dementia. In 2025, she moved to the University of Southampton to take up the post of Associate Professor in older age psychiatry. In addition to her research work, she also serves as a consultant in old age psychiatry.
