Dr. Ling Kwok

Biography

Ling Kwok is a talented music instructor specializing in piano performance at the University of Victoria. She earned her Bachelor of Music from UVic and a Master of Music from Indiana University, where she was awarded the distinguished Performer's Certificate. An accomplished performer, Kwok has showcased her skills through concert tours across various countries including the United States, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico, and Russia. She made notable appearances as a soloist with esteemed orchestras such as the Victoria Symphony, Montreal Symphony, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico. Kwok has also participated in master classes throughout Russia, China, and North America. Notably, she was selected as the soloist during a Victoria Symphony tour of British Columbia in 1997, where she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto K466, earning critical acclaim. As a chamber musician, Ling is a founding member of the McPherson Trio. Her discography includes recordings of works by Beethoven, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, and Mozart, with several releases gaining popularity among music lovers.
