Biography

Lingyu Wang is a Professor of Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of British Columbia Okanagan. He previously joined UBC Okanagan from the Concordia Institute of Information Systems Engineering at Concordia University, where he held the NSERC/Ericsson Industrial Research Chair in SDN/NFV Security from 2019 to 2024. He obtained his Ph.D. in Information Technology from George Mason University in 2006, as well as M.Eng. and B.Eng. degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shenyang Aerospace University in China, respectively. His research focuses on various aspects of cloud security, NFV security, 5G core/ORAN security, and container/Kubernetes security. Wang is actively involved in teaching and mentoring graduate students, particularly in industry-sponsored cloud and 5G security projects. His recent work includes publications in high-profile conferences and journals, emphasizing the integration of security principles in modern networking environments.
