Dr. Linnea Bärebring

Biography

Linnea Bärebring is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in Clinical Nutrition at the University of Gothenburg. With a background as a Registered Dietitian and a PhD, her research centers on the relationship between diet and cardiometabolic health, particularly focusing on chronic disease risks. She employs both intervention studies and observational data to understand these connections, and she is interested in the development and application of dietary assessment methods. Linnea teaches the dietetics program at both Bachelor's and Master's levels, supervising students at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. She leads various courses, including Nutrition 1 and Bachelor’s Thesis Clinical Nutrition. Linnea is actively involved in multiple research projects aimed at understanding the effects of dietary patterns and nutritional intakes on public health, especially among pregnant women and adolescents in Sweden. Her work often addresses pressing health concerns such as gestational diabetes and the impact of ultra-processed foods. Linnea's contributions to the field are reflected in her numerous publications, emphasizing the importance of nutrition in preventing chronic diseases and improving overall health outcomes.
