Biography

Linnea Vikström is a PhD student in the Department of Clinical Microbiology at Umeå University. She graduated as a biomedical analyst in laboratory medicine from Umeå University during the midst of the pandemic in 2020. Immediately after graduation, she joined Mattias Forsell's lab, where she worked on antibody tests for SARS-CoV-2, particularly focusing on home testing for the public health authority in Region Västerbotten. In 2022, she obtained her Master's degree in laboratory medicine from Uppsala University. Currently, her research focuses on understanding the adaptive immune response in older individuals, particularly how mRNA vaccines function compared to younger populations, and the necessity of booster doses to maintain protection for the elderly.
