Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Lipin Loo. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Lipin Loo received his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Iowa in 2013 and completed postdoctoral training in the Zylka lab at the Neuroscience Center of the University of North Carolina from 2014 to 2017. He joined the University of Sydney in 2018 as a Lecturer and leads the Cell Biology Genomics Group. His primary research interests focus on leveraging functional genomics to define the underlying principles that control human biology and disease. Loo serves as the Group Leader for RNA Therapies and co-leads the Single Cell Biology node at the Charles Perkins Centre. His work utilizes genetic screens and single-cell transcriptomics to identify and map transcriptional changes that underpin cellular trajectories in developmental and pathophysiological conditions, such as chronic pain and neuropathy. His lab aims to elucidate the orchestrated transcriptional changes that have significant implications for understanding disease-causing developmental aberrations, restoring normal function in damaged neurons, and generating substitute neurons from stem cells. Furthermore, Loo is developing novel targeted RNA therapies to treat various diseases, aspiring to transform these innovations into university spin-offs.
