Dr. Lis Cordingley

Biography

Lis Cordingley is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology at the University of Manchester. With a PhD from the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences at the same institution, she has been actively involved in teaching and lecturing since 2000. Her research primarily focuses on the psychological aspects of long-term physical health conditions, with specific interest in inflammatory musculoskeletal and dermatological conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. She has contributed significantly to the field through her work on pain assessment and communication, the psychological implications of physical comorbidities, and self-management strategies for patients. Beyond her research, Lis is a co-founder of the North West Health Psychology Research Network and has served on various committees within the British Psychological Society. Her qualifications include a BSc in Statistics and Psychology, an MSc in Applied Psychology, and extensive experience in developing training programs for health professionals. Her collaborative work includes associations with several prominent researchers and projects, including the Manchester Centre for Health Psychology.
