Biography

Lisa H. Anders is a Lecturer of German and European Politics at King's College London. Her research focuses on the German political system, EU responses to democratic backsliding in EU member states, and the processes of European (dis)integration and politicisation within the EU. Before joining King's College, she worked at the University of Leipzig and the University of Potsdam. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Leipzig and a Master's degree in Social Sciences from Humboldt University of Berlin. As a speaker in the Standing Group on European Studies and the Comparative Regionalism research group of the German Political Science Association (DVPW), Lisa engages actively in the academic community. Her teaching includes topics such as Contemporary German Politics and Research Methods in Political Science. Lisa is also available to supervise PhD students on related topics. Her recent publications include studies on the EU's internal governance and the challenges of rule of law enforcement in light of recent political upheavals in Europe. Lisa's work examines how transnational relations and the evolving role of Germany as a 'reluctant hegemon' influence European economies and the global political landscape.
