Professor Dr. Lisa Christensen

Biography

Lisa Bøge Christensen is an Associate Professor Emerita at the University of Copenhagen. With a DDS and a PhD, her primary research interests include epidemiologic studies of oral health utilization and care, treatment patterns, preventive and curative dental services, and the evaluation of dental health care programs across various age groups. She has a keen focus on special programs that address inequality in access to and use of current dental care systems. Her work emphasizes the development of oral health indicators and the quality of care provided. Engaging in multidisciplinary projects, she explores the relationship between lifestyle factors, such as diet, smoking, and physical activity, and their impact on oral health among Danes. Over the past five years, she has collaborated extensively on research initiatives in Europe and America, contributing to oral health discussions and educational lectures, including significant topics such as oral health among the elderly and the access discrepancies faced by different populations.
