Biography

Lisa Colvin is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management at Texas A&M University. She earned her B.S. in Health & Physical Education/Teacher Education and M.Ed. in Physical Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, followed by a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her work experience includes roles in cardiovascular pulmonary rehabilitation and non-invasive cardiovascular stress testing. Dr. Colvin currently teaches various courses, including therapeutic principles and exercise physiology, and has a primary research focus on cardiovascular disease risk and health promotion responders. Additionally, her research interests encompass para-athletics training and performance optimization. She is recognized as an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and serves as a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Beyond academia, she is a high-performance coach for USA Track & Field, USA Triathlon, USA Cycling, and USA Swimming, and holds master-level official certifications with USATF and USAC.
