Biography

Lisa Eskow, co-director of the Supreme Court Clinic, joined the Texas Law faculty in 2014. With 18 years as an appellate specialist, she has argued in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Texas Supreme Court, and various federal and state courts across the nation. Eskow has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2018 Professor of the Year from the Legal Writing Student Bar Association and the 2016 Professor of the Year from the Women's Law Caucus. Before her full-time role in the Supreme Court Clinic, she taught writing and advocacy courses to first-year law students and upper-level electives. Eskow has been recognized as a sixteen-time Texas 'Super Lawyer' and has a background in handling a wide range of domestic and international legal matters, including intellectual property disputes and bankruptcy litigation. With a law degree from Stanford University and experience as Deputy Solicitor General of Texas, she specializes in constitutional issues and has clerked for Hon. Pamela Rymer of the Ninth Circuit.
