Biography

Lisa Feldman is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Civil, Geological, Environmental Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. She obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo in 1992, followed by a Master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993, and a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2006. She is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute and the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. With over nine years of engineering consulting experience in addition to her academic endeavors, Feldman has been involved in notable projects, including the rehabilitation of the Confederation Bridge and the restoration of Calgary's Old City Hall. Her research focuses on the mechanical behavior of reinforced concrete, masonry members within structures, evaluation and rehabilitation of existing structures, and code calibration. Her contributions have influenced several key industry standards, including changes to CAN/CSA S304-14 and ACI 318-19 among others.
