Biography

Lisa Goldberg is an Associate Professor at Dalhousie University, where she specializes in 2SLGBTQ+ nursing, equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as perinatal community health nursing. Her teaching and research focus on how systemic institutional issues affect historically underrepresented communities, utilizing innovative feminist, queer, and arts-based methodologies. She has been instrumental in developing educational scholarship that addresses these concerns. In June 2022, Lisa became a Faculty Associate at the Watson Caring Science Institute (WCSI), drawing on her certification as a Caritas Coach to enhance student experiences and contribute to leadership initiatives within the Nursing faculty. Her previous role as Associate Director of Undergraduate Student Affairs involved significant contributions to student support and supervision. Lisa's research interests also include the philosophy of caring science and the application of critical frameworks within nursing education. She is involved with several professional organizations, including the International Association for Human Caring and the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association. Throughout her career, Lisa has received numerous accolades for her teaching excellence and impactful contributions to nursing education.
