Biography

Lisa Griffin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at the University of Texas at Austin. With a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Western Ontario earned in 1999, Griffin's research focuses primarily on neuromuscular control mechanisms, exploring the effects of fatigue, aging, and various pathologies such as shoulder pain and peripheral neuropathy. Griffin is the Editor-in-Chief of the Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine and has contributed significantly to academic literature through numerous publications. Additionally, she directs the Neuromuscular Physiology Research Laboratory and is involved in teaching high school students through the Neuroscience Camp at the university. Her work has advanced the understanding of motor unit firing patterns, the impacts of different training paradigms, and the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying muscle control and rehabilitation.
