Dr. Lisa Kodadek

Biography

Lisa M. Kodadek, MD, FACS, is an Associate Professor in the Surgery Division at Yale University, where she specializes in general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care. Dr. Kodadek provides comprehensive clinical care for patients with time-sensitive surgical diseases and acute traumatic injuries. She holds board certifications in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Her research primarily focuses on older adults and critically ill patients facing life-threatening surgical diseases. Dr. Kodadek employs mixed methods, both qualitative and quantitative, to study patient-centered approaches that enhance communication within the intensive care unit. She has a particular interest in the bioethical challenges of caring for critically ill patients and works actively with national organizations such as the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma. Dr. Kodadek completed her internship and residency in general surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, followed by fellowships in surgical critical care and acute care surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has received multiple awards for her clinical excellence and leadership in surgical education and research.
