Biography

Lisa Mills is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University. Her research focuses on health politics and policy in developing countries, with a special emphasis on maternal reproductive health policy in Mexico. She examines the political economy of development, theories of development, and environmental politics and policy. Mills has worked on the implementation of the maternal health Millennium Development Goal (MDG-5) and conducts comparative studies on mining regulation, particularly in Australia. She holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History and Political Science from the University of Melbourne. Mills has received several awards for her teaching, including the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Carleton University Faculty of Public Affairs and the M.A. Public Administration Students’ Society Excellence Teaching Award.
