Dr. Lisa Park

Biography

Lisa Park, MD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University. She completed her medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine after earning her undergraduate degree from Harvard College. Dr. Park has had extensive training in ophthalmology, including residency at New York University and fellowship in anterior segment refractive surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. She has been recognized for her expertise in complex cataract surgery and has a flourishing practice on Manhattan's west side, specializing in the latest surgical techniques such as femtosecond-laser assisted cataract surgery. Dr. Park has mentored over 70 residents during her eleven years as Assistant Associate Director of Residency Training at NYU and has served as the Chief in Ophthalmology at Bellevue Hospital. She has been acknowledged for her contributions to the field, earning accolades such as America’s Top Doctors and the Exceptional Women in Medicine Award. Additionally, she is committed to global ophthalmology, regularly traveling to Guatemala and East Africa to perform humanitarian eye surgeries. Dr. Park's leadership roles include serving on the board of Vision Care USA and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at her department. Her research includes nearly 70 published works across book chapters and journal articles on advanced surgical techniques.
