Biography

Lisa Saulsman is an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia, where she serves as the Deputy Clinic Director of the Robin Winkler Clinic and the Clinical Psychology Placement Coordinator. She is a registered clinical psychologist with extensive experience in public mental health and private practice. Her clinical work includes providing individual and group cognitive-behavioral therapies for adults with complex and enduring depressive and anxiety disorders. Saulsman's research focuses on developing new treatments for mood management, social anxiety disorder, worry, and rumination, and she has published research supporting the effectiveness of these treatments. In addition to her clinical work, she actively develops and facilitates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)-based training workshops for mental health practitioners in Western Australia. She has authored self-help CBT resources that are available online and recognized by clinicians and consumers both nationally and internationally. Saulsman co-authored the book 'Imagery-Enhanced CBT for Social Anxiety Disorder', released by Guilford Press in January 2018. She primarily teaches postgraduate clinical psychology students at UWA, supervising clinical practice and coordinating internal and external placements. Saulsman is involved in clinically applied research and currently accepts students for Honours and PhD supervision.
