Lisa Schwartzman is an Associate Professor in the Philosophy Department. She is an author of the book 'Challenging Liberalism: Feminism Political Critique' published by Penn State Press in 2006 and co-editor of 'Feminist Interventions Ethics Politics' from Rowman Littlefield in 2005. Her work includes feminist analyses of rights, equality, and hate speech, and she is currently co-editing a special issue of the Journal of Social Philosophy on the topic of 'Gender, Implicit Bias, Philosophical Methodology.' Her research also examines the role of choice and autonomy in contemporary discussions of feminism, concentrating on a critical feminist analysis of philosophical methodologies. In the fall of 2010, she served as the Humphrey Chair in Feminist Philosophy at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. Furthermore, she has been elected chair of the steering committee of FEAST (the Association for Feminist Ethics and Social Theory).
