Biography

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, I attended school at the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria. In 2001, I moved to New Brunswick to begin my career at UNB, where Fredericton has been home ever since. Throughout my time at UNB, I have worked in various roles, including Residence House Don/Advisor, Peer Assisted Learning Coordinator, and Assistant Dean of Science. In my role as Senior Teaching Associate in the Department of Biology, I have worked diligently to develop new and relevant curricula for the courses I teach, advocating for the updating of undergraduate laboratories and designing safe, inclusive, and open learning environments that are equipped with modern lab equipment. I am a dedicated advocate for students on issues related to mental health, equity, and social justice. When not at UNB, I enjoy an active lifestyle; in my earlier days, I played competitive soccer on the west coast and later switched to rowing, spending a summer training with the national team in London. I am currently passionate about cycling, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my husband and golden retriever.
