Biography

Lisa Suatoni is the Timothy B. Atkeson Visiting Clinical Environmental Lecturer at Yale Law School. She earned her Ph.D. in Biology from Yale University in 2004 and holds a Master of Environmental Studies from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, obtained in 1993, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, completed in 1988. Suatoni teaches the Goldman Sonnenfeldt Environmental Protection Clinic, where students engage in real-world environmental advocacy and legal work. In addition to her educational role at Yale, she has served as a Senior Scientist in the Oceans Program at the Natural Resource Defense Council, Inc. in New York, where she focuses on ocean conservation, sustainable fisheries, and marine protected areas. Suatoni's combination of academic expertise and practical experience provides her students with a comprehensive understanding of environmental law and policy.
