Biography

Lisa Trahair is an Associate Professor in Film Studies at the University of New South Wales, where she has developed a strong research focus on popular avant-garde artifacts, utilizing images to explore aesthetic pleasure and the formulation of ideas surrounding reality. Trahair possesses a wealth of experience in film studies and film philosophy, having published extensively in these areas. Her influential book, 'Comedy Philosophy: Sense Nonsense Early Cinematic Slapstick,' released by SUNY Press in 2007, reflects her commitment to examining comedic performances and their implications in film contexts. She has been actively involved in interdisciplinary research projects, receiving multiple Australian Research Council Discovery grants, and is recognized for her contributions to the Cinematic Thinking Network.
