Biography

Lisa van Reemst is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She obtained her BSc in Psychology in 2009 and her MSc in Social Psychology with honors in 2010 from Utrecht University. In 2011, she began her career as a starting researcher and lecturer in the Criminology department at Erasmus University Rotterdam. In March 2020, she completed her PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Van Reemst has worked with the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR) and has been involved in several research projects focused on aggression among employees, employee-citizen interaction, and victimization. She is a project leader of ViNe, a Dutch victimology network, and serves on the editorial board of 'Tijdschrift voor Criminologie'. Currently, she teaches courses on Statistics and Theoretical Criminology, and has previously coordinated research skills programs at Erasmus University. Van Reemst's teaching and research interests intersect at the unique nexus of criminology and psychology.
