Biography

Lisbeth Aggestam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and an associated researcher at the Centre for European Research (CERGU) at the University of Gothenburg. Her research focuses on Foreign Policy Analysis and International Relations, with interests including political leadership, diaspora foreign policy, foreign policy role theory, European Union dynamics, and the global role of states as actors. Aggestam serves as editor-in-chief for the journal 'Foreign Policy Analysis' published by Oxford University Press. She is currently the Principal Investigator for a research project entitled 'Transnational Civil Society Foreign Policy: Role Diasporas Comparative Perspective' funded by the Swedish Research Council. In her teaching, she convenes and instructs various courses such as 'Europe and the World' at the master’s level, 'Foreign Policy Analysis' at the bachelor’s level, and 'European Union and International Affairs'.
