Biography

Livnat Konopny-Decleve is a British Academy International Fellow at the School of Social and Political Science at The University of Edinburgh. She is a political anthropologist specializing in Jewish radical left and alternative political imagination in the context of Israel/Palestine. Her current research focuses on the work of feminist left-wing Jewish activists who seek solutions to the ongoing violence in the region. Livnat completed her PhD in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University in 2022, where her dissertation examined the perceptions of political action and sovereignty among Israeli Jews dissenting against Israeli control of Palestine. She has also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2023. In addition to her research, Livnat is a co-convenor of APeCS, the Anthropology, Peace, Conflict, and Security network at EASA, and she contributes to initiatives that gather and analyze data to improve website usage and user experience.
