Biography

Professor Liyan Yang holds the Peter L. Mitchelson/SIT Investment Associates Foundation Chair in Investment Strategy at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Cornell University in 2010. His research interests focus on financial markets, financial institutions, behavioral finance, data economics, and the digital economy. He has served as a co-editor for the Journal of Financial Markets and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and is currently an associate editor for several prestigious journals such as the Journal of Economic Theory and Management Science. Professor Yang is also a senior fellow at the Asian Bureau of Finance Economic Research and has received various accolades, including the Bank of Canada Fellowship Award and the Bank of Canada Governor's Award. His work has been published in leading journals including the Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies.
