Biography

Liz Crowe is an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she serves as Medical Director of the Blood Bank Division in Transfusion Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Raised in Philadelphia, PA, she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Immaculata University before pursuing a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics as part of the MD/PhD Program at Drexel University College of Medicine. During her medical training, Dr. Crowe was the Chief Resident in Clinical Pathology during her final year of residency. Her clinical practice focuses on transfusion medicine and therapeutic apheresis, while her research interests include immunohematology and patient blood management. As a clinician-educator, she is dedicated to teaching and mentoring resident and fellow trainees, as well as medical students and Specialist Blood Banking (SBB) students. Dr. Crowe aims to develop innovative methods to engage patient learners. She is a member of various professional organizations including the AABB, the International Society of Blood Transfusion, and the American Society for Apheresis.
