Liza Bolen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Languages at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John. Originally from Québec, she completed her M.A. at the University of Victoria and earned her PhD from the University of British Columbia in 2020. Her recent publication, 'Mémoire sensorielle et migration dans le roman québécois contemporain,' examines the influence of senses on narratives of time and space in migration literature, highlighting themes of food, childhood, and belonging. Her research interests include Contemporary Québécois Literature, Migration, Travel, Autofiction Theories, Memory, Nostalgia, Sensory Studies, Representation of the Body in Literature, Childhood Literature, and Food Studies. In recognition of her teaching excellence, she received the UNB Saint John Humanities and Languages Departmental Award in 2023-2024.
