Biography

Liza Boucher is a Lecturer in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. She is a forensic pathologist with a focus on understanding the underlying pathology leading to sudden unexpected deaths, which is central to her practice. Liza completed her medical degree at the University of Montreal in 2004 and subsequently underwent training in General Surgery and completed her residency in Anatomical Pathology at Laval University. She further specialized in Forensic Pathology through the Provincial Forensic Pathology Unit program at the University of Toronto, completing her training in 2012. Liza is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anatomical and Forensic Pathology. Over the years, she has developed a special interest in cardiovascular pathology, particularly in relation to deaths resulting from cardiovascular diseases.
