Dr. Loizos Heracleous

Biography

Loizos Heracleous is an expert in strategic management, change leadership, corporate governance, and organization development. An experienced executive development practitioner, he has worked with senior managers in blue-chip corporations since 1997. His work spans the private and public sectors, and he has developed programs for emerging economies and organizations such as NASA, Daimler, Bank of China, Standard Chartered Bank, Aviva, Tata, IBM, MAN, O2, Nokia, YWCA, and the Singapore Police Force. From 1999 to 2004, he worked at the Singapore Institute of Directors, training company directors in corporate governance and developing programs that address global governance issues. Loizos has served on the editorial boards of leading management journals, including the Academy of Management Journal and Academy of Management Review. He holds the Chair in Strategy and Organization at Warwick Business School and has published 80 research papers in leading periodicals such as the Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. His recent book, 'Janus Strategy,' outlines how companies can achieve competing goals of high-quality innovation at low costs. Loizos has received multiple awards for his research and teaching, including the prestigious Douglas McGregor Award and a recognition from Stanford University as among the top 2% of scientists globally based on citation impact. He earned his PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Cambridge.
