Lora Ramunno is a Full Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Ottawa. She completed her PhD in Physics at the University of Toronto in 2002. After working in a high-tech startup, she returned to academia as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa. Since 2007, she has been a faculty member in the Department of Physics and held the Canada Research Chair in Computational Nanophotonics from 2007 to 2017. Professor Ramunno has received the Early Researcher Award in 2007. Her theoretical and computational research mainly focuses on nonlinear nano-optics, intense laser-matter interactions, nanophotonics, nonlinear optical microscopy, and photonic devices. She has successfully collaborated on various industrial projects and is a fellow of the Max-Planck-University of Ottawa Centre for Extreme Quantum Photonics, as well as the NRC-University of Ottawa Joint Centre for Extreme Photonics. Additionally, she is a member of the University of Ottawa Centre for Research in Photonics.
