Biography

Lorenzo Caliendo is a Professor at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs and the Department of Economics at Yale University. He has a joint appointment with the School of Management. His research focuses on international trade, including the determinants of trade, welfare effects of commercial migration policy, and the impact of foreign trade competition on the organizational wage structure of firms. He has published his research in leading academic journals such as Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics. Additionally, possessing significant editorial experience, he is an Associate Editor for Econometrica and the Journal of International Economics. Caliendo holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago and a Master's in Economics from Auckland University. His previous roles include Research Fellow at IES-Princeton University, Lecturer at the University of Chicago, and Global Future Council Fellow at the World Economic Forum. He has received recognition for his work, including the Uruguay National Prizes in Economics from FCS ACADECO.
