Lorenzo Ferrarini is a Lecturer in Visual Anthropology at the University of Manchester. He completed his postgraduate degree at the University of Milan-Bicocca in 2008 and obtained his PhD in Social Anthropology with a focus on Visual Media in 2014. His dissertation explored the relationship between knowledge and environmental perception among the Donso hunters in Burkina Faso, emphasizing apprenticeship experiences. His work includes documentary film and sound recording, and he has been involved in the LEAV - Ethnomusicology Visual Anthropology Lab since 2005. His documentaries include 'KALANDA - The Knowledge of the Bush' and 'Living Weather', which reflect on people's experiences of seasonal changes in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire. Currently, he is working on a film about the music of the Sambla people in Burkina Faso.
