Biography

Lori Bernstein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and a licensed clinical neuropsychologist in Ontario. She received her PhD in Psychology from Columbia University in New York City. Since joining the University of Toronto in 2006, she has worked at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre as part of the Department of Supportive Care. Her clinical practice involves neuropsychological assessments and psycho-educational interventions aimed at helping patients develop self-management skills to cope with cognitive dysfunction related to cancer diagnosis and treatment. Her research is centered on understanding and characterizing cognitive changes resulting from cancer and its treatment, both in the short and long term, as well as exploring ways to improve patient functioning and quality of life. Dr. Bernstein also holds an adjunct faculty position in the Psychology Department at York University. Her research interests include cancer-related cognitive dysfunction, psychosocial oncology, and cognitive rehabilitation.
