Biography

Lori Zeltser is a Professor in the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University and the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center. She received her A.B. degree from Princeton University and her Ph.D. from Rockefeller University. Following her education, Dr. Zeltser completed postdoctoral training in neurobiology, working with renowned scientists at King's College London and Columbia University. She became an Assistant Professor at Columbia in 2007 and currently serves as the Co-Director of the Nutritional Metabolic Biology Ph.D. program and as the Director of the Advanced Tissue Pathology Imaging Core at the Columbia Diabetes Research Center. Her research focuses on the central and peripheral neural circuits controlling eating behavior and metabolism, exploring how these mechanisms interact with genetic, environmental, and dietary factors throughout the lifespan.
