Dr. Lorrae Van Kerkhoff

Biography

Lorrae Van Kerkhoff is a Professor at the Fenner School of Environment and Society and the Director of the ANU Institute for Water Futures at the Australian National University. She convenes the Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability degree program and teaches undergraduate students while supervising graduate students. Lorrae holds a PhD from ANU and has completed post-doctoral fellowships at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. She has conducted research at Harvard's Center for International Development and was awarded a Fulbright Post-doctoral Fellowship and a Land Water Australia Travelling Fellowship. Her work focuses on concept knowledge systems and sustainability, emphasizing knowledge governance and the relationship to social-ecological change. Van Kerkhoff integrates Science and Technology Studies with Sustainability Science and has published extensively on transdisciplinary research methods and future-oriented approaches to conservation.
