Lorraine Pangle studies and teaches history, political moral philosophy, with special interests in classical thought. Her research covers topics such as the relation of Plato’s political epistemological thought as presented in Theaetetus, the connection between Plato and Homer with a focus on moral psychology, and the implications of Nietzsche’s political philosophy. She has authored five books, including 'Reason and Character: Moral Foundations of Aristotelian Political Philosophy' (University of Chicago Press, 2020) and has published numerous articles on key figures in philosophy, including American founders.
