Biography

I am a Fellow, College Lecturer, and Director of Studies at Selwyn College, Cambridge. I hold a BA in English from Robinson College and an MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from University College London, where I returned to Robinson for my PhD, funded by the Judy and Nigel Weiss Scholarship. I teach various papers and supervise dissertations in my areas of expertise. My primary research interest lies in medieval literature, specifically focusing on medieval dream poetry and the conventions surrounding it. My ongoing projects include writing a book on literary imitation and pastiche, particularly in the context of Chaucer and the advancements in editing his canon during the 1700-1900 period. Additionally, I have a keen interest in literary hoaxes, forgeries, and the works of Thomas Gray and Alexander Pope. I have supervised undergraduate dissertations on a wide range of topics, particularly in poetry and medievalism, and I welcome inquiries in these areas, especially regarding Chaucer and medieval narratives.
