Biography

Louis Chaptini graduated from St Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon in 1999 and completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He joined the Digestive Diseases section at Yale in 2012 and has worked as full-time faculty since August 2015. His clinical focus includes screening for colon cancer and addressing functional bowel diseases. As a general gastroenterologist, he treats a wide range of digestive symptoms, including reflux, ulcers, and irritable bowel syndrome. Currently, he works at Yale on a part-time basis, primarily attending to inpatient gastroenterology services. He has received the Howard M. Spiro, MD Digestive Diseases Fellowship Teaching Award in June 2015 from Yale School of Medicine.
