Biography

Louis Lemieux studied physics at Université de Montreal, obtaining both his Bachelor of Science in 1982 and Doctor of Philosophy in 1989. He also earned a Master of Science from the University of Toronto in 1984. In January 1990, he moved to London to join the Institute of Neurology, where he became part of the newly established Epilepsy Research Group led by David Fish and Simon Shorvon. His work primarily focuses on multimodal image data fusion for surgery planning. In 1995, alongside David Fish and Philip Allen, he began a systematic investigation into safety and data quality issues associated with simultaneous EEG-fMRI recordings, which laid the foundation for a continuing research program. In 2012, he and David Carmichael commenced a consultancy service on MR device safety compatibility through UCL Consultants. He has held the position of Consultant at Lemieux Carmichael MR Safety Consultants since October 2012 and is certified as a Clinical Scientist by the Health Care Professions Council in London.
