Biography

I obtained my PhD from the University of Montreal in 1998. In terms of scientific lineage, my mentors are Gilles Brassard and Claude Crépeau. Interestingly, Gilles is also my grandfather as Claude is my brother. This lineage is quite natural in academic circles. I began my academic career at the University of Aarhus in Denmark from 1998 to 2008. I had the incredible fortune of working with Ivan Damgaard, to whom I owe a lot. It was at Aarhus University where I learned the fundamentals of classical cryptography, which are immensely useful today. I joined the Computer Science Department at the University of Montreal in June 2008 and am a member of the Theoretical and Quantum Computing Laboratory (LITQ). During the winter term starting in January 2009, I will teach Introduction to Cryptography and Introduction to Computer Security.
