Biography

Louise Jezierski is an Associate Professor of Social Relations Policy at James Madison College, Michigan State University. Her research focuses on revitalization in legacy cities such as Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland, with particular attention to local economic development, race relations, and social inequality. Recent projects include community surveys for social building in Lansing, economic development initiatives in Flint, and comprehensive studies on socio-economic characteristics and health disparities in Detroit. Jezierski holds a B.A. in Sociology and Geography from Boston University and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
