Dr. Louise Krasniewicz

Biography

Louise Krasniewicz is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University at Albany, and both an MA in Educational Media and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut. Her teaching includes courses such as Anthropology Cinema and Mythology Movies, where she emphasizes creative learning through new media and participatory research. Her research interests encompass various aspects of media and culture, including film, popular culture, and the implications of new media on contemporary anthropology. Specifically, she explores topics like narrative, metaphor, symbolism, and ritual in digital contexts. With extensive experience in media production and graphic design, Professor Krasniewicz is skilled at integrating digital media into academic research, fostering unique learning experiences for her students.
