Biography

Lourdes Rodriguez del Barrio is a full professor at the School of Social Work at the Université de Montréal. She leads the Research and Action Team in Mental Health and Culture (ERASME) and the International University-Community Research Alliance on Mental Health and Citizenship (ARUCI-SMC), which she founded. Since June 2017, she has also been the scientific director at the social research center of the CIUSSS du Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (NIM). Through her engagement in various research projects, she focuses on the integration of Syrian refugees and the mental health challenges faced by immigrant populations. Her work aims to forge new paths for inclusive community practices and to improve mental health services for underserved groups. She is a committed advocate for building new solidarities in a world marked by tension, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and collaboration.
